Hong Kong Eligibility Criteria

Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme was first announced in February 2006 and stated accepting applications from June of the same year. This is a quota-based entrant scheme meant for skilled professionals who wish to stay in Hong Kong to explore employment opportunities or business opportunities.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPLICANTS OF THE HONG KONG QUALITY MIGRANT ADMISSION SCHEME –

• Age – Applied applicants must fall under the age group of 18 to 50
• Financial requirements – Applicants must represent documents of supporting and accommodating themselves and their dependents
• Character – Applicants should not have any criminal or bad immigration record in Hong Kong or in any other Country
• Language Proficiency – Applicants must be proficient in English or Chinese language
• Educational Qualification – Applicants must have good qualification background. The applicant should have a first degree from a recognized University /Institution. Sometimes in a special condition good technical qualification background and several years of proven experience and achievements also may get considered with a documentary evidence

POINT BASED SYSTEM

Each applicant who meets the prerequisites must meet the minimum pass mark either under General Points Test or Achievement-based Points Test. The minimum pass mark may get change without any prior notice from the Department.

GENERAL POINTS TEST

• Age – In between 18 – 50
• Educational Qualification – Maximum points can be claimed by Masters, double Master’s or Doctorate degree holders with good qualification background
• Work Experience – More number of years experience can give more points to hold the best chance
• Language Proficiency – Principal applicant must be proficient in English or Chinese. The applicant should score a minimum score of 6 average in IELTS test
• Family background points may be claimed from the factors – Relative (married spouse, parents, siblings, children) is a Hong Kong permanent resident residing in Hong Kong, Spouse qualification and from each accompanying unmarried dependent child under age 18

ACHIEVEMENT-BASED POINTS TEST –

The scheme invites the Individuals with exceptional talent or skill who have outstanding achievements.

• The applicant has been awarded for exceptional achievement such as Olympic medals, Nobel prize, national/international awards
• The applicant has been acknowledged for outstanding contribution/performance to the development of his/her field and awarded by Lifetime achievement award from the particular Industry.
